I have been learning to record moments of life during this era of digital photography, and it has been a joyous and fulfilling journey for my soul and mind. My photography journey has been filled with digitally clean and sharp photos. However, when I viewed my photos, they seemed to be more technical than artistic. Some of us had labeled these photos as clinical photos without souls.
Then, about two months ago, I discovered the joy of taking photos with vintage and affordable world-class design manual focus Leica lenses. I had bought my copy of 50mm Summicron-R which was built in 1970 at a local used camera store in Costa Mesa. The photos that have been created by this vintage Leica lens are not as sharp as my modern Fujifilm lenses such as 23mm f/1.4 and 56mm f/1.2, but they carry my intended emotions. Perhaps, I have found a suitable tool for my artistic need which taking soulful photos to share with my friends!
